Employment Services at Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) offer free supports to Deaf and hard of hearing individuals, ages 16 and over, to find a job and succeed by working with employees and employers to put the right supports in place. Employment Services focuses on people who are Deaf and hard of hearing and their unique employment challenges. Our network of employers is familiar with the needs of the Deaf and hard of hearing. Other services for people with disabilities may not have our knowledge base and expertise working with a wide range of hearing loss in the workplace, including fluency in ASL, technology applications, workplace communication, and safety strategies for Deaf and hard of hearing employees. We can also address the needs of people with literacy challenges and deaf immigrants whose first language is not English, French, ASL or LSQ.We are collecting data to better understand who is looking for work and what kind of opportunities jobseekers are searching for.
